We are going into week three, and it's been very difficult for Alyssa. She went out of town for Memorial Day weekend, and spent the weekend with family and friends. This journey is not an easy one, but she is learning that if she doesn't plan ahead and prepare her food, it just isn't going to work. I believe Alyssa will lose the weight because she is learning through this process that it really isn't worth it to spend weeks dedicated to eating right, working out and then blowing it all in a couple of days.

Losing as much weight as Alyssa needs to lose is a lifestyle change. I equate it to an alcoholic; if an alcoholic goes into bars and continues to do the things that they used to do, they will most likely fail.
Don't get me wrong, it doesn't mean that you can't go have fun when one is trying to lose weight, but there are triggers that one must avoid.

My advice to Alyssa was that when she plans to go away on another vacation or long weekend, she needs to plan ahead with her meals. If she stays full and doesn't get hungry, she won't crave the pizza or other unhealthy foods that surround her. Always get a hotel room that has a kitchen, even if it's a little more. The cost is worth it! Have a small cooler with her at all times...(even when not going out of town). Have plenty of good healthy foods readily available. Choose a hotel that has a gym if at all possible. That way there is never a reason or excuse for not taking 45 minutes out to do a little cardio.

I didn't do a weight in for her last Friday. We both knew it wouldn't be a good weight in. This was her one time 'mulligan".... however, we will be weighting this Friday! Stay tuned folks!!

Alyssa's workout 5/3/2014

Friday, May 23, 2014

Well Alyssa had her ups and downs this week but still ended up losing 5 pounds! I weighted her in this morning, and all things considered, I was very happy with her results! She really has a great understanding of what all this entails. Alyssa knows there is NO such thing as short cuts. She is in it to win it...Her weight today was 281..YAY!
Unfortunately, she has problems with one of her legs and because of all the cardio required, it isn't easy for her to burn those calories & fat, but she is faithful and some-how manages to get it done. So proud of her great start..we have a long road ahead, so please follow us along the way and I encourage anyone that wants to motivate Alyssa, to leave a note for her. Until next week...stay healthy my friends.

Meet my friend Alyssa. We are on a journey together to help her lose over 135 pounds. This will be a huge change for her...A change where she can enjoy life as a healthy fit woman, wife and mom.

Alyssa is 34 years old and currently weights 286 lbs. Her goal weight is 150lbs. She will reach her goal weight by November 2015 (18 months). Alyssa is married to Christopher and he is so VERY supportive. She said he pushes her when she needs it. That is so important for her success. She has a beautiful daughter Alivia, that is 5 years old.

She has been on many diet plans in the past, but through a correct meal plan, diet and exercise, I know she will achieve her goals! Follow us on her journey.

I met Alyssa at Move With Intent Functional Fitness, a boot camp that I frequent. It's an awesome boot camp in Apollo Beach, FL. Alyssa and Thayne (the owner) approached me one night and asked me to look at her current diet plan. Someone had put her on a diet that an ant would starve on. It appeared to be a plan that a fitness competitor would be on the last week before a competition. Geezzzzzzzzz. What are people thinking that hand out these diet plans? There were NO carbs to speak of. How can she exercise with NO carbs? So, right away I wanted to help her. I told her I would get back to her and I needed more information to help plan her fitness & diet plan. I will add that she did lose 24 pounds on the diet plan she was given, but she was quickly losing motivation to go any further on it. She needed help!

So, I met with Alyssa an did an assessment of her medical and diet limitations. I took photos, weight and current measurements.  I noticed that she was extremely motivated. Anything I asked her to do, she was right on it! No excuses from this girl..she knows her road is long and will be difficult but I know she will make it!

She is sending me a daily video with her updates and I will be weighting her in weekly.
Day One (May 19th 2014) below.... ENJOY this with us!
